Updates For Week of July 28 (version >= 1.1.1)
There are lots of tweaks and a few new features coming this week: Web and Video previews in discussions - discussions and comments are parsed for links to external sites and youtube videos, and previews are generated where possible. Youtube videos have an embedded player. Garage / Profile Tweaks: The Garage button on the bottom now shows the friendly garage view. From there you can edit your own profile The Follower/Following items in the profile are now clickable to show users that are followed/following For your own profile, you can now view the users you’ve blocked Garage’s now have a Name (they always had a name, but it wasn’t on the edit screen) Session renewals - Sessions should now auto-renew when possible, causing fewer login prompts. Also fixed a bug where the app did not detect session expiration Mentions Improvements - there was a problem when using “@” to tag users; there were extra characters. This issue has been fixed, and multiple mentions should now render properly Events Improvements: Events now have optional end times, and an All Day flag Users can indicate if they are attending an event or not Event authors can choose to Close an event, which prevents any new checkins or change of attendance Choosing Interested or Attending will subscribe users to be notified if the event changes. A stretch goal is to click to navigate via platform nav to an event’s location And for iOS only: App now shows Ad Tracking Transparency notice App now integrates with Apple’s native oAuth components when logging in with Apple

Coming Next - Notifications
The next update is going to include notifications. Functionality is somewhat limited at this time; you’ll receive notifications when someone comments on a post you are following, when you are mentioned in a comment/discussion, or if someone follows you. But the list of supported notification types & triggers will grow with time. This also includes push notifications, but I think there will likely be tweaks there. Near Term UI Changes There are two more changes coming to the UI very soon: the Logs button, and the Discover feed. These are best illustrated via screenshot (ignore the sample/test data): Discover Feed - the activity feed is going to be split into two categories: your Following feed, and the Discover feed. The Following feed is the feed as it is today: content from yourself and people you follow. The Discover feed will show activity from anyone. This separation of feeds will allow users to see content from people they don’t know, which should make things a little more interesting when they sign up and don’t know anyone. Logs - the middle button, what is currently a +, is being replaced by “Logs”. This is foundational work and simply displays an empty Activity Logs screen. Activity Logs is a new feature focused on capturing details & data about activities in which you participate, such as drag racing or autocrossing. See more at @Concept - Activities

Initial Feedback
The onboarding is nice, just enough detail to get me started quickly with a little bragging. Landing page Instead of dropping me into the feed after initial onboarding, why not get me hyped about showing off my ride? I think it would be nice to ask for my first photo, my last or next race, my favorite muffler manufacturer (I have no idea what I’m talking about), etc. this would let me “dress up and comb my hair” before I leap into this new crowd. Attaching files When attaching files I would think seeing my photo library would be my most common location for photos. When I tapped attachment, it gave me a list of most recent documents, but didn’t let me navigate beyond this, such as to specific iCloud app folders. Navigation: bottom Nav The side scrolling bottom NAV feels odd. Normally that would remain stationary as the content above it slides to the next screen and the icon lights up to indicate where I am. Profile Navigating to the profile should only go to edit by default when it’s first set up. After that, it should show a mostly uneditable, attractively designed profile page with an edit button at top right. Clicking that will show the Cancel and Save buttons and the current editable fields. Posts When I create a new event or post, save it, I am taken to a blank screen. I know you don’t have a lot of content, but at least I think I should see my current post rather than a blank screen again. It makes me wonder whether my post actually saved. Potential new features • Wish lists - mods I want to make in the near future, maybe races I want to run?, etc. More to come.

Follower info on own garage
Today the only way to see how many followers you have / you follow, is to search for yourself. This information should also be viewable on your own editable garage profile screen.

Autocross - Run Comparison
I would like to be able to export a run from my software (racebox, race chrono), and compare my run against a run from a friend. Plot differences and project an optimum time between the two runs.

Event Attendance
Currently I can check into an event, but I cannot indicate if I am interested in attending an event. I should be able to invite others to events, and they should be able to indicate if they are attending or not (or Maybe)

Retire a Ride
The user can delete builds, but cannot delete rides. The user should be able to completely remove a ride, and also have the ability to “retire” a ride. A retired ride would remain in a separate section of the user’s garage so that the full history is retained, and represents the fact the user no longer owns that ride.

Group Rides
Social - A user should be able to organize a Group Ride. This would be a superset of an Event. A Group Ride would have geographic endpoints, possibly with multiple waypoints. Users should be able to invite others to group rides, and be able to search for group rides.

Concept - Activities
The platform currently allows users to create events, but that is mostly to provide users with an opportunity to gather. The platform should allow users to participate in activities, either connected to a group, or individually. In other words, activities do not need to be connected to an Event. Activities could include HPDE’s, drag strips, autocross events, etc. Activities should support discussions and attachments, like other entities. Activities should also support notes and metadata, so that a user can record relevant data from one activity to another (such as ambient weather conditions, tires pressures, etc). Perhaps include templates for activities.
